Have Something Up My Sleeve!
Hey! How are you doing?!
After a long week with only phrasal verbs with up, I think now is time to know a new idiom! I am still in the middle of the summer break and I have listened to musics. Anyway, I am getting at the music Drive By by Train! Listen here!
There is a part when it says:
"Please believe that when I leave
There's nothing up my sleeve but love for you"
So, to have something up one's sleeve means to have a secret or surprise for someone. The according of the meaning the letter means like I don't have any secret for you, except love for you.
I decided to write about an idiom which I knew listening to this music because I think it is so much easier to memorize something when you learn listening to some music. I have learned a lot listening to musics. It is a funny way and you learn like singing, listening, relaxing...
Got the meaning?!
