I have talked about one idiom very common used in fairy tales, Live happily ever after. Today, I'm gonna talk about another very common idiom, used in the beginning of fairy tales.
That's Once upon a time! Most part of the fairy tales, I dare to say all of them, starts like Once upon a time...
For example: Once upon a time, there was a lonely princess waiting for her right and too perfect prince. I think she died waiting him.
This idiom literally means a long time ago. So, if you use it in conversation, you were supposed to mean something happened a long time ago and you wish it'd still be that way.
For example: Once upon a time, everyone played with each other and no one worried about danger, because it didn't even exist.
