Screw up!

To screw up is:

To muster or summon up. For example: I screwed up my courage before the game.

To get very anxious, nervous and confused. For example: he was very screwed up before the exam.

It can also means to do something badly, to make more intense (emotions), to make a mess.

Like: Her emotions were screwed up.
Yesterday, the pianist screwed up the difficult passage  in the second movement.

Tip: I was listening to Hit the Lights by Selena Gomez when the idea of know it came up in my mind. There is a part of the music where she says "It's the time that you totally screwed up, still you're trying get it out your mind".
She used with the meaning of like mess up or would it be "wasting time"?!
