In the Black! In the Red!

In the Black!

I decided to write about this because of today is Black Friday!

So, to be or to put sth in the black means to be earning more money than spending.

For example: Last year the company was in debt, but this year the advertisement put things in the black.

I wish my account were in the black.

The opposite of it is in the red! To be or to go into the red means to spend more money than you earned.

For example: The company was about $1 million in the red when it failed.

Got it?!
