On the Spot!

This idiom has different meanings.

One of them is to be in the right place, exactly at the right time.
For example: The director was here on the spot. He told us that he expects us to be on the spot when problems arrive.

Another meaning is in trouble, in a difficult situation.
For example: Jenny hates to be on the spot when she has nothing to do with it.
There was a problem at the office and everyone was on the spot.

On-the-spot can also be an adjective and mean immediate, instantious. For example: An on-the-spot reporter noticed the crime.

Any questions about it?!
