Keep an eye on!

To keep/have an eye out (for someone or something), to keep one's eye out (for someone or sth) means basically the same thing.

It means to watch carefully for someone like taking care of. It's also to watch the arrival of sth.

For example: After the party, everyone kept an eye out for the cab.

The idiom to keep an eye on someone or sth is similar. It means to watch someone carefully.

For example: The mother asked someone to keep an eye on her baby while she cooked.

Variations: to have an eye on someone/sth, to keep one's eye on someone/sth.

Got it?
